Our Approach

Sunshine Technology Jatropha Plantation

Sunshine Technology’s objective is to create profitable forestry & bio-energy businesses which also provide long-term benefits to the local and global environment, the local and national economy, and the individuals, businesses and institutions working with us. We work closely with local project partners, ensuring that local knowledge and experience is fully utilised, and local conditions and stakeholder concerns are fully considered when planning and managing each business. In addition, Sunshine Technology is able to draw on international skills, technology and best-practice from elsewhere within the carbonpositive network

Sunshine Technology’s ventures are designed specifically to earn Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) under the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) wherever possible. These carbon credits provide an additional revenue stream improving the overall economics of projects, and reducing risk through income diversification.

The CDM also has strict requirements regarding local socio-economic and environmental impacts, as well as local and national Government approval. Compliance with these requirements, through a transparent and regulated process, provides assurance to stakeholders such as local communities and local/international NGOs that all activities adhere to internationally accepted standards. However, Sunshine Technology firmly believes that careful management of the social and environmental impacts of its activities is not just a regulatory requirement, but a key factor in ensuring the long term stability and success of the business.
